University Hospital Lewisham going with the flow
26th November 2021
In order to comply with new regulatory requirements, the Nuclear Medicine Department at the University Hospital Lewisham was required to source a laminar flow unit for their radiopharmaceutical dispensing area. Lead Technologist, Adrian Sciancalepore, set out to find a suitable product and was pleased to find that Bartec could offer a bespoke solution.
"Real enthusiasm for the project"
“We contacted a number of companies,” said Adrian. “Bartec were the only one that responded with real enthusiasm for the project. Scott Taylor visited our premises to discuss the options and measure up and in no time at all we were looking at placing our order for a new radiopharmaceutical dispensing station with an integrated laminar flow unit.”
“The whole project ran smoothly throughout, the only hold up being a slight delay in the delivery of the exhaust fan. That said, the installation work was still completed in one day and as scheduled at the beginning of August. Following installation the laminar flow unit was certified by an ESCO engineer to ensure it was operating within the required limits. This was all part of the service from Bartec.”
“Overall we are very pleased with the new unit. Everything is working as it should and it makes our day to day tasks in the dispensing area much more pleasant as a result.”
